Gault Millau vin 2009
Domaine Philippe Gilbert
Very good domain in biodynamics. Descendant of a winemaker lineage since 1768, Philippe Gilbert took over the management of the Domaine in 1998. With the oenologist Jean-Philippe Louis, he put a lot in the work in the vines and cellar, setting up the tools necessary to produce high-quality wines. To be fully in accord with his convictions, he now runs the vineyard in compliance with organic farming requirements (he has even been a member of the Byodivin Union since 2007). Unlike last year, the reds seem to gain body while remaining airy. The Renardières 2006 is rich in tannin, offering dense fruit overtones free from woodiness. A gourmet Domaine Red 2007, very pleasant. Watch this space. With the whites, Philippe Gilbert seeks minerality, like this 2007 vintage with its beautiful edge, whereas the Renardières 2006, in the same spirit, is richer with a light woodiness, bringing complexity.
