Les Renardières Red 2012

Produced from the 2 hectares of the Treilles plot, in the village of Parassy, the 11 000 bottles produced in 2012 reveal a strong pinot noir. This cuvee is fermented in oak tree barrels for between 11 to 13 months, then in vats for about 10 months, the necessary time to perfect its balance.

2012 was so to say a perfect vintage. After a harsh winter and a soft March, we did fear an early vintage. But the freshness of April and the frost of May slowed the vines growth. The blooming did last a particularly long period (between 20 and 30 days), which made the grapes gain in aromatic complexity. The harvest took place at the beginning of October. The wine was bottled on the 29th of July 2014.

Its robe is deep ruby red. The wine releases smoked notes and, after airing, red and black berries dominate. In the mouth, it is as well structured and smooth, with a nice freshness. In the finish, we find blended tannins and black fruits aromas.

It is essential that it be decanted two full hours before drinking. This wine is an excellent accompaniment for elaborate red-meat and game dishes as well as for terrines and fresh cheeses.

Serve at 16°C.

This wine is available in magnum (150cl).
